Personal Achievements

This will be a short blog. More pictures than words, but pictures are worth a thousand words right?

Two weekends ago was Father's Day and an amazing Father's Day it was! My lack of father has always meant this holiday has gone unnoticed for me. However, since becoming a member of the Tatum family I have had the joy of celebrating Father's Day with three of the greatest fathers I know! Between my own grandfather's and the Tatum men I now have a renewed sense of faith in fathers, and I am lucky that I and my children have these amazing men in our lives! This years Father's Day was at a beautiful wooded park. The kids loved it and I thoroughly enjoyed spending this time with the ones I love on such beautiful sunshiny day!

This past weekend I achieved a feat I never thought I could. An accomplishment that less than 1% of people in the world can say they have achieved. I started, fought through and finished a half marathon! There have been many obstacles in my life that I have had to overcome. I have been told many times how strong of a woman I am; but this past weekend has really tested my endurance, strength and determination. I set a goal and through all of my obstacals (5 months post partum, 4 weeks post surgery, and left leg nerve damage) I fought through the pain and fatigue and I crossed that finish line! I can't explain the euphoria and sense of  empowerment felt after completing something that your body wanted to quit miles ago. I was also lucky to have attained this personal achievement with my best friend by my side!

Ready to Run

We did it

"I've learned that finishing a marathon isn't just an athletic achievement. It's a state of mind; a state of mind that says anything is possible." ~John Hanc~

I have become so empowered by my half marathon experience that I have decided to complete a full marathon this November. More to come about this later:-)

This blog definitely wouldn't be complete without pictures of the little ones right?

Happy Week!
